Rumi asks. “And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself?” At 5 years old I began this journey into “the self” by exploring the woods. This curiosity led to a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, philosophy, religion, culture, and what it means to be a human being. I continue to search. There have been several losses along the way that were instrumental in creating a different perspective: an empathy in providing care to the grieving and caregivers. As a devotee of Rosemarie Rizzo Parse it is important to learn the client’s perspective of quality of life is and (if possible) how clients may be assisted in attaining their vision. I came to nursing later in life. Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I worked in hospice care, group homes for adolescents, and memory care. My goal after working as a PMHNP was to create a small private practice where clients and I can work together; focusing on quality of care rather than quantity.

Prior to nursing, work experience consisted of real estate sales, upholstery/window treatments, personal assistant, and innkeeping. I also worked as an adjunct professor in bio-ethics for Atlantic Cape Community College. I enjoy reading, the pursuit of knowledge, hiking, cooking, gardening, music, renovating/rehabbing historic homes, travel, yoga, meditation, and spending time with family and friends.
